Amy (LaMothe) Richards

Ms. Richards is currently Director of Business Planning Services for VHA, an association of hospitals across the county that focuses on improving the clinical and economic performance of its members.  She assists member healthcare organizations with strategic planning initiatives, program enhancement projects, large-scale financial feasibility studies, and clinical, revenue cycle and supply cost benchmarking.  Prior to joining VHA Pennsylvania, she worked in a business analysis role with Vital Engineering, a program of UPMC Health System, and the Pittsburgh Tissue Engineering Initiative.  Before coming to Pittsburgh, Ms. Richards worked in hospital research administration at Brigham and Women’s Hospital (Boston, MA).

Ms. Richards received her MBA from the Katz Graduate School of Business and her MHA from the Graduate School of Public Health, both at the University of Pittsburgh.  She graduated magna cum laude from Boston University with a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology and minor in Statistics.  She is a member of the American College of Healthcare Executives.  She is very involved in the community, serving as Choir President and ex officio member of the Board of Directors for the Bach Choir of Pittsburgh and participating in sporting events for local health-related charities.
