Edward A. Guzik, FACHE

Mr. Guzik is presently a consultant in healthcare risk management and professional liability insurance programs.  His unique career has approached heath care management from multiple perspectives. Experience includes positions in risk management - Director of Risk Management and Patient Safety; hospital administration - Vice President of Professional Services; insurance brokerage - hospital and physician professional, property and casualty liability insurance including alternative risk transfer (captive) coverages, and, innovative marketing and business development – Senior VP, Marketing for a claims management group supporting hospital captive insurance programs.  He has enjoyed a track record of positive physician relationships in administrative as well as business development matters.

Mr. Guzik earned his BS in Psychology from Villanova University.   Following four years of service as a US Army Medical Service Corp (MSC) officer, he earned his MBA in Organizational Management from the University of Pittsburgh Executive MBA Program.  He is a Fellow of the American College of Healthcare Executives and a member of the American Society of Healthcare Risk Management (ASHRM).  He was a charter member of the Western Pennsylvania Association of Healthcare Risk Management (WPACHRM) serving as President twice and in numerous Board officer and member positions for over twenty years.  He has also served on the Board of Transplant Recipients International Organization (TRIO) and Board action committees of the South Carolina and Vermont Captive Insurance Associations.
