Pay for performance is an issue that has spurred emotion and reaction from all sectors of the healthcare community.  A panel discussion will take place amoung leaders from the hospital, physician, payer and consumer communities.  These varied perspectives will provide an excellent opportunity to judge the merits and fallacies of a pay for performance approach.

Learning Objectives
At the end of the presentation the attendee will be able to:

• Identify the perspectives from the various industries that both support and challenge Pay for Performance
• Gain a clear understanding as to what Pay for Performance is and how it will be used to evaluate quality and outcome measures
• Identify various methodologies and means by which Pay for Performance will be evaluated
• Understand the barriers from a political, measurement and regulatory perspective that will impact on the implementation of Pay for Performance
• Articulate from a general view the impact Pay for Performance will have on insurers, hospitals, physicians and the consumer.
