ACHE Western PA Role: Treasurer
Adam Kramer currently serves as the Director of Hospitalist Medicine within the Department of Medicine at UPMC. In this role, he leads the day-to-day operations of the hospitalist programs at UPMC Presbyterian, Shadyside, Mercy, and Magee-Womens Hospital. As part of this work, he partners with the service center’s physician and executive leadership to provide world-class care and experience to the customers it serves. Adam was a Program Manager in the same department for three years before expanding his scope of responsibility. During this time, he participated in and successfully completed UPMC Health Plan’s rigorous Lean/Six Sigma Green Belt Program. He leveraged this training to optimize care models and business operations across programs.
Prior to joining the hospitalist team, Adam completed a one-year Administrative Fellowship opportunity at UPMC Hamot and an 18-month Administrative Residency at UPMC Magee-Womens Hospital. Through these experiences, Adam gained a breadth of knowledge in all aspects of hospital operations via completion of hands-on executive sponsored projects.
Adam joined ACHE as a student in 2011 and since then, has continued his involvement by serving on the Early Careerist, Sponsorship, and Marketing and Membership Committees.
Adam holds a Master of Business Administration with a concentration in International Business from the University of Delaware and a Master of Healthcare Administration from the University of Pittsburgh. He completed his undergraduate degree by obtaining a Bachelor of Science in Health Policy & Administration from Pennsylvania State University.
